Can Claude Generate Images? What It Makes

Can Claude generate images? Not photorealistic pictures or illustrations by itself in the way a dedicated image generator does. It can analyze images, help write prompts, and, according to Anthropic's image-capability guide, build HTML/SVG diagrams, charts, and interactive visuals in Claude web and desktop (beta). That last feature is not a claim about the magicdoor.ai Claude chat interface.

Claude visuals versus generated pictures

From a Claude chat to an image

1. In magicdoor.ai chat, select a supported Claude model and describe the picture you want: subject, setting, composition, style, and any must-keep details. For example: “Create a square editorial illustration of a small greenhouse at dawn, muted green palette, empty space at the top for a title.”
2. Ask explicitly to generate the image, not just to describe or critique it. A supported chat can call magicdoor.ai's image-generation tool; it is not the same as Claude's own custom visuals in Anthropic's apps.
3. The chat tool uses GPT Image 2.5 Flare to generate the picture and returns it in the conversation. Review the result before asking for a change. If the tool is unavailable or the request fails, take the prompt to the image workspace and choose a model there; do not mistake a text description for a generated file.

Regular chat image generation uses available balance. Chat does not show an image-tool price quote before the tool runs. If you need to review a rate before generating, open the image workspace to see its displayed model rates and check your balance there. An eligible first-image onboarding offer is a separate path; this guide does not assume it applies to every account or to the normal chat tool.

Prefer to choose the image model yourself?

Use the magicdoor.ai image workspace when you want direct model choice, reference images, prompt-led editing, or upscaling. Write a prompt, select an available image model, and generate. For an existing picture, upload or paste it and describe the specific edit in that same prompt-first flow; there is no separate Generate/Edit toggle.
