Magicdoor.ai was created after finding out how cheap every day use of LLMs actually is. On Magicdoor you can use a complete but manageable set of the best AI Models in the world, all within one interface.

That means: one chat history, one memory, one bookmark, and all for peanuts compared to stacking up two to three plo plans from the model providers themselves. Magicdoor is private by default: your chats are not used to train models, and your content is encrypted in transit and at rest. Last, but not least, Magicdoor includes a set of the current best image generation models as well. ChatGPT generates great images today, but it's slow. And Google's Imagen4 is also great. Better, actually, in some cases.

Here is a short guide to getting the best out of your Magicdoor account:

Create an account to get started

Everyone who signs up gets $0.10 usage credit. It sounds silly, but it's enough to get you started.

First chats

The chat interface is easy to use. Just type your prompt and hit enter to send. Magicdoor will use Claude 4 Sonnet by default, but you can switch to other models using the dropdown, even within a conversation.

Our current model lineup includes:

• Claude 4 Sonnet (default) - Often smarter than GPT-4o, excellent for most tasks
• Claude 4.1 Opus - Anthropic’s premium model for the hardest tasks
• Grok 4 - The newest hyped model with great capabilities
• GPT-5 - OpenAI’s flagship general-purpose model
• GPT-5 Mini - Low-cost variant ideal for summaries and extraction
• Gemini 2.5 Pro/Flash - Google's newest models with advanced reasoning
• GPT-4o - The familiar “vintage” ChatGPT model you know and love

These models have extensive capabilities and should serve as your first choice most of the time. Magicdoor automatically uses Perplexity to search the web when needed - you don't have to think about it. They can also see images you upload, generate images with automatic prompt enhancement, and accept PDFs so you can chat with their contents.

If you want to specifically research a topic, you should use Perplexity. It's custom trained for accuracy, and and will give you links to online sources backing up its answers. Learn more about how Perplexity works with Magicdoor.

Generating images

If you ask for an image in a chat, Magicdoor will automatically enhance your prompt to get better results, then generate the image using one of our top image models:

• Gemini 2.5 Flash (aka “Nano Banana”) - New top image model; often better than ChatGPT Image
• Imagen 4 - Google's latest image generation technology
• ChatGPT Image - Strong results, but typically slower than Flash
• Flux.1.1 Pro - High-quality images from Black Forest Labs
• Recraft V3 - Creative images with advanced style control

It's fun to generate images and Magicdoor has a dedicated image generation interface where you can take full control over the prompt and try different models.

Usage based pricing on top of a low fixed fee

Most AI tools offer a free tier and a subscription model, where you pay $20 per month for some capped amount of usage. But for almost everyone, that is ridiculously wasteful. Even the best models are not very expensive to use, especially for short (i.e. the vast majority of) conversations.

Magicdoor partially unbundles AI. With your $6 per month subscription, you can use quite a bit of AI. Many people will never need to top up. And if you have a couple of weeks where you don't need AI as much, it won't feel as bad to have a subscription running. But if you need (much) more AI, Magicdoor will readily scale with you, and charge you only for what you use. Here are some examples of chat costs for different models and different types of conversations.

A single, short question for Perplexity:

• 363 total tokens
• $0.0005 per message
• $0.0068 total cost

A longer chat with Claude 4 Sonnet to learn about SEO best practices:

• 3,020 total tokens
• $0.05 total cost

A series of questions about the Football World Cup, including an image:

• 5,281 total tokens
• 1 image generated
• $0.032 total cost

Managing your usage and balance

Magicdoor works keeps your subscription fee as low as possible. Every month you get $1 worth of AI usage included with your $6 subscription. You will probably be surprised how much you can do with just $1!

In the chat sidepanel, if you tap or click your email address you can see your current balance, and you can see your usage history in the usage tab. If you run out of balance, you'll no longer be able to send messages, and you will need to top up via the same usage page.

Your included $1 will renew each month, and these dollars will not stack. But any additional balance you add will never expire. For tips on maximizing your initial credit, check out our guide to maximizing your 10 cents.

Tailoring Magicdoor to your preferences and memory

Try to open the settings menu on the top right of the chat page. After getting tired of getting recipe amounts in ounces every time, we built a feature in Magicdoor to set your preferred unit system.

You can also see and update the base instructions that are sent to the model for every chat. Use this to adjust the tone of voice of Magicdoor across all models.

Magicdoor remembers things about you across all chats, just like ChatGPT. Go to 'Manage memory' to see, add and remove memories. You can easily port over your memory from ChatGPT by asking ChatGPT: "Give me a list of my current memories", and just pasting each line into Magicdoor's memory.

Assistants

The concept of Custom GPTs is called Assistants on Magicdoor. You can make your own custom assistants easily to avoid having to re-explain things in every chat. For example, you can create a personal trainer, a management coach, or an assistant that writes in a particular style for work.
